The 'Recipe of Real Mineral Water'

Water is one of the precious gift from Mother Nature. The value of water is something that we can’t calculate. We can’t compare it to that of something which is easily available to find its value.

Water is also a primary need of all human beings as well as for other living organisms in this huge world. We, being human, are able to think and decide to have everything hale and hearty, which in turn urged human beings to invent and manufacture “The Mineral Water”. The mineral water we consume every day for drinking, undergoes a lot of processing which somehow lightly disturbs the nature of the real water.

RO is another method of purifying water which for 1 liter wastes the same amount or twice the principal amount of water. We generally don’t care about the outlet water that comes out from the RO, which sums up that a hug amount of water is being wasted that goes into the drainage and mixes up with the sewage daily, which is ultimately useless.

We use natural mineral water in our home. We further purify the water, making it more mineral rich. Our home made mineral water tastes like the temple’s ‘Theertham’, often my friends and people who drink our house’s water say so. My Mom is the genius brain behind the further purification of water who makes it taste like the ‘Temple’s Theertham’.

And I’m here with the recipe of our homemade mineral water.

Ingredients required are:

  1. Vendhayam – Fenugreek Seeds – Methi (Good for Diabetes and Painful menstrual periods)
  2. Milagu – Pepper – Kaali Mirch (Good for digestion, respiratory relief and weight loss)
  3. Sitharathai – Alpinia Galangal – Kulinjan (Good for cough and cold)
  4. Vetti Veru – Bunchgrass Root – Khus Khus (Good for skin and fever)
  5. Adhi Madhuram – Liquorice – Mulethi (Good for immunity, memory improvement and sweetening agent)
  6. Jeeragam – Cumin seeds – Jeera (Good for Curing itchiness, body heat and anti-ageing)
  7. Thethankottai – Clearing Nut – Nirmali (Good for curing abdominal and eye disorders, clears the water naturally)
  8. Thulasi – Basil Leaves – Tulsi (Good for headaches, fever, curing kidney stones)
  9. Pacha Karpooram – Edible Camphor – Kachcha Kapoor (Good for curing abdominal, skin and cold problems)
  10. Nannari – Sarsaparilla – Indian Sarsaparilla (Wonder root) (Good for liver, curing arthritis, psoriasis and urinary problems)

Ingredients

With all these ingredients, you only need a copper pot and a mud pot. Generally drinking water kept in the copper pot is good for health. My mom keeps the water for a day in copper pot and transfer it to the mud pot for chillness which has no harm for us.

The Process

Basically it’s a 2 step process.

Step 1:

The process is simple. You can also use RO or mineral water for this “Real Mineral Water”. Fill the water in the copper pot, Put (3) Sithrarathai – 1 or 2 Nos, (5) Adhi Madhuram 1 or 2 Nos, (7) Thethankottai – 2 or 3 Nos, (8) Tulsi – few leaves, (9) Pacha Karpooram – A pinch powdered, (10) Nannari – 1 or 2 Nos. Keep it for a day.

The 90's Kids - A nostalgic overview of the rumors of our times - 2

It's been a quiet long time since I've posted the first part of the 90's kids' rumors. I got much more posts to use for this topic. But I want to keep this post to be a short one and should give my readers a nostalgic feel.

From 1990-2000 we've witnessed a drastic change in every aspect of life. But still the kids who were born and brought up in this generation has a different approach to their life. We are the culturally sound generation and as we are growing up, we've lost so much traditional rituals. That's what the irony the development and changes has brought.

Meme 1
This is not a rumor, but the best moments of our childhood. When we had no hesitation to participate in any kind of competition. The best suitable prize was always some tiffen box or water bottle or any steel utensils.

Meme 2
Another best memory is drinking any juice and milk, when we complete drinking it and seeing the mark which would come like a mustache made up of foam and dreaming that we'll have a real mustache in the future.

Meme 3
This is one of the remarkable utensil we had those in our home in those childhood days. We used to drink anything only with this straw tumbler. We were adamant about drinking even water with that straw tumbler. Unfortunately, I don't find this type of tumbler used more. I'm glad that I do have one Straw tumbler even now in my home.

Meme 4
Here comes the biggest threatening rumor we believed in back those days. We believed that the world will come to an end in the 2000th year. Also every one of us being an excellent dreamer, we imagined about 'how the school building would collapse ?', all the time.

Meme 5
We being a child, never missed a chance to wave at buses, trains and random people. But the biggest waving was at the air crafts flying some 20000 fts above us, believing that passengers could see us waving at them.

Meme 6
This one is another rumor that we believed in. That if we pluck one white hair which is grown, then it'll lead to the growth of many white hairs.

Meme 7
This rumor is something else. We had a belief that if somebody had 2 curls on the top of the head, they'll have 2 wives in the future. But When we grew up, we got to know that 'Even managing one relationship is so tough and confusing, how brave we were to think of two wives even in that tender age?'.

Meme 8
The best snacks we had those days are the Slate Kuchis. These had the best taste when compared to white chalks. However it's not good for health, we enjoyed this snack.

Meme 9
This is Avvaiyar, a poetess and an ardent devotee of Lord Murugan. We read about her in our kinder garden classes. The best part is naming her olavayar, without knowing that ஔ is pronounced as Avv not ola. 90's kids' can relate it.

Meme 10
Today's generation is sadly settled with their phones, playing pubg becoming lazy as the days pass on. But during our childhood we are such active kids, we didn't cared about the hot sun and tough exams, we loved to play gully cricket with friends on every possible chances.

Meme 11
The most frightening rumor we believed in is that about the snake. As per mythological assumptions, it is believed that the cobras are known for taking revenge. Most of the rural kids might have encountered these situation that beating cobras to death and fearing that they would come and revenge us for disturbing them or beating them to death.

Meme 12
One adventurous belief we had that times, soon after Spider man became the inspiration for many of us in our childhood. As it comes in the movie, we believed that letting a spider bite us will make us Spider man. Many incidents were reported too, claiming that children jumping from the terrace trying to swing with the help of spider web, but utterly failed and injured. Don't try this at home !!!

Meme 13
As a child we almost scared the hell out of us when we heard stories about ghosts and graveyards. Every school had some students who spread these kind of stories that there was a graveyard where our school is built on.

Meme 14
One of the rituals done by the richest kids in our school days. There were few students or their parents who obviously wanted to keep their books safe and brought them to school after binding their books. Binding books back then was a bit costly.

Meme 15
Another meme that reminds us about the simple life some of us lead back then. We did had this desire to buy fancy exam writing pads, but our parents were hard working and some parents couldn't afford that expense, we used the old calendar card boards as our exam pads.

Meme 16
It was one of the unique and weird thing we did back in our childhood days. Just twisting the eyelids will give a weirdest look which may frighten the fellow kids in our school who were not able to do that. After doing that we assumed that we have turned like a demon/ghost.

Meme 17
Today's generation is good at adapting and learning new things quickly. Kids today are spending most of the times with their gadgets only. Back in our times journeys are more interesting and happiest ones. Being a child everybody wondered why trees are running along the train or bus in which we were traveling. Similarly, the moon ran behind us all the time.

Why am sharing such silly memes and useless rumors of 90's kids' ?

One might find these memes useless and meaningless. But for us these kind of memes gives a pure happy smile despite of whatever the bad situations are. Our childhood days are filled with such silly rumors which have nothing much but made us to fear from doing some craziest and naughty deeds as every children does.

Meme 18
Unfortunately, today's parents are easily getting frustrated by their cute and mischief children, so they give their mobile phones and lock them in a place. It becomes a bad habit, because from the third or fourth time getting their baby hands on mobile it becomes an assumption for the child that they will get mobiles if they are adamant.

Back in our times, we used to play actively in grounds and streets. If we do something wrong, it's sure that we are going to enjoy a bad Diwali with mom's broomstick and dad's belt. That somehow made us what we are today, even though we were afraid and hated to get beaten up by parents in any places and crying in front of everyone.

Just pouring my heart out and tried to highlight the differences of being a child and believing rumours then and now.

Comment down your unforgettable childhood experiences.
